Discover Scuba Diving in Puerto Galera

Congratulations to our Japanese Group, consisting of Naoko Yazawa,Takumi Akiyoma, Shiiya Reiko. They all completed their Discover Scuba Diving course with former full-time Scandi Divers Resort Instructor Peter Smith.

We hope to see you guys back to do your Open Water courses!

Jurassic Dive

Scandi Divers Resort mananger Terry O’Dowd conducted what he called the ‘Jurassic Dive’ on December 31.

The objective was to get old friends back into the water to dive after a lengthy absence. The other criteria was that the guys be ‘old timers’, no young-uns allowed 😉

The seven Jurassic divers had a successful dive at the Sabang Wrecks dive site, and came up at the floating bar for celebrations.

Congratulations to all seven participants, who had a cumulative age of 417 years!

The Jurassic dive will be an annual event, and we are hoping to break the age record next year!

Scandi Divers Staff Xmas Party

It’s been a hectic xmas and new year for us all at Scandi Divers, so it took us a bit longer than we planned to get our photos organised and published, but better late than never!

The Scandi Staff Xmas party was a rousing success, and a great night for everyone. There was food, music, dancing, karaoke, xmas presents, and some of the male staff even got dressed in drag before singing! (which had everyone in stitches)

Big thanks to all the wonderful Scandi staff for their hard work in 2013. We wish them all the best for 2014!

Jenny returns to Scandi Divers (briefly)

Jenny and baby Amy with Scandi Resort Manager Terry O’Dowd

Jenny Fischer is a good friend of us all at Scandi divers, and up until last year was a full-time diving instructor here at the resort. Sadly for us, we lost our dear Jenny when she moved to Hong Kong to have a baby 🙁

We were delighted when Jenny returned to visit us late last year along with boyfriend Nat, and beautiful baby Amy.

Jenny and Nat of course enjoyed some scuba diving while they were here, and Amy indulged in some gurgling and making cute faces 😉

We wish them all the very best for their new life in Hong Kong, and hope to them all again soon.
